Final Evaluation Results

As we finish our 2014 - 15 program year we are happy to release our Summative Evaluation for both 21st CCLC grants. The Summative Evaluation measures data collected from the beginning to the school year to the end of the program. It allows us to gauge how the program ran in regards to meeting our objectives.  
 
21st CCLC Grant #1 serves our Wogan S. Badcock Jr, James J. Musso  and Carl G. Schowe sites.  This grant was in its 4th year.  It provided services for a total of 375 students attending Title I or private schools during the 2014 - 15 school year and Summer of 2014. Of those 375 students, 75.7% were regularly attending (attended the program more than 30 days). The objective results are as follows for grant #1:
  • 80% of regularly participating students will maintain or improve knowledge of healthy eating and the importance of physical fitness. (Final result 81%)
  • 75% of regularly participating students will report having adopted a routine of healthy eating habits and increased physical activity outside of the program. (Final result 68%)
  • 80% of program participants will go to school with homework completed and all necessary materials. (Final result 89%)
  • 80% of regularly participating students will maintain or show improvements in school conduct, behavior, social competencies and suspension rates.  (Final result 97%)
  • 70% of regularly participating students will maintain or improve academic performance in reading. (Final result 77%)
  • 80% of regularly participating students will maintain or improve in reading vocabulary skills. (Final result 94%)
  • 70% of regularly participating students will maintain or improve academic performance in math.  (Final result 81%)
  • 70% of regularly participating students will maintain or improve academic performance in science and technology.  (Final result 72%)
  • 90% of parents will confirm they have obtained knowledge that will support their child academically. (Final result 90%)
  • 80% of parents will confirm they have obtained knowledge that will help them support their family through healthy eating and financial education.  (Final result 92%)
  • 65% of program parents will participate in book club. (Final result 77%)
  • 70% of program parents will participate in an open house during the program.  (Final result 87%)
21st CCLC Grant #2 served the John L. Sanders Boys & Girls Club.  It was in its 1st grant year and served a total of 103 students during the 2014 - 15 school year.  Of those 103 students, 90.2% attended more than 30 days.  The objective results for Grant #2 are as follows: 
  • 80% of regularly participating students will maintain or improve knowledge of healthy eating and the importance of physical fitness. (Final result 86%)
  • 75% of regularly participating students will report having adopted a routine of healthy eating habits and increased physical activity outside of the program. (Final result 54%)
  • 80% of program participants will go to school with homework completed and all necessary materials. (Final result 96%)
  • 80% of regularly participating students will maintain or show improvements in school conduct, behavior, social competencies and suspension rates.  (Final result 96%)
  • 70% of regularly participating students will maintain or improve academic performance in reading. (Final result 77%)
  • 80% of regularly participating students will maintain or improve in reading vocabulary skills. (Final result 83%)
  • 70% of regularly participating students will maintain or improve academic performance in math.  (Final result 76%)
  • 70% of regularly participating students will maintain or improve academic performance in science and technology.  (Final result 76%)
  • 90% of parents will confirm they have obtained knowledge that will support their child academically. (Final result 87%)
  • 80% of parents will confirm they have obtained knowledge that will help them support their family through healthy eating and financial education.  (Final result 95%)
  • 65% of program parents will participate in book club. (Final result 78%)
  • 70% of program parents will participate in an open house during the program.  (Final result 74%)
